While August may hold the “dog days of summer”, we can’t help but celebrate the entire season with our pooches. If you are looking for a few reasons to spoil your dog this summer, we have rounded up some of our favorite products that will help you both have a great season. Three cheers (woofs!) for summertime.
Available in small or large sizes, these collapsible bowls make grabbing a drink of water on the trail (or sidewalk) easy peasy. We especially love these versions because of the carabiner attachment. Clip to your hiking backpack, cooler, or belt loop for easy accessibility.
Dog Life Jackets
If you are a boater, kayaker, canoer, or avid fan of all types of water, keep your dog safe by making sure he is wearing a life jacket. Even for the most accomplished water breeds, a long day on the water can be exhausting and even dangerous for your four-legged friend. We tend to like this life jacket, even though it is pricey, because it features a handle for you to grab them easily out of the water and reflective tape for maximum visibility.
Speaking of water, if you have a dog that loves to lounge or splash around in water to cool off, consider grabbing a dog pool for your backyard. You can purchase a plastic kiddie pool to do the trick, or browse the many dog pool options on Amazon to find the perfect one for your home.
A New Leash
We hate taking a dog to the beach only to have the leash clip jam with sand. You can eliminate that option by considering a new leash with a locking carabiner. No more sand jams, and this leash can go in the water as well.
Obedience Training with Charleston Dog Training
The summer season is the ideal time to get your dog enrolled in obedience training with us. No matter the age, breed, ability, or challenges, we can work with your dog to create behaviors that allow for a more pleasant experience at home. You’ll love your new relationship when you are able to practice commands together and take leisurely walks around the neighborhood during the cool summer evenings. Give us a call to talk more about your options!
